Dear Esteemed Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of the entire SRMUN Virtual Staff and Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to welcome you to SRMUN Virtual 2022, to be held October 7-8, 2022, via Zoom. My name is Rachael Feibelman, and I have the distinct honor of serving as your Secretary-General for this year’s conference. Last year, when we gathered for this first official SRMUN Virtual conference, the SRMUN Staff and Board of Directors were blown away by Delegates’ engagement with the newest conference to the SRMUN organization and were left feeling excited about the vast potential of future SRMUN Virtual conferences.
This year's meeting aims to challenge Delegates to create strategic and diplomatic solutions to a diverse set of international problems. Through the presentation of The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) committees, Delegates are encouraged to pursue avenues of research that will contribute to both their academic and personal growth in topic areas that may be unfamiliar to their current fields of study.
Having personally engaged with Model UN, and specifically SRMUN through my collegiate experience, and now into my professional years, individuals frequently ask me what has made me return to MUN conferences year after year. My response is always this: For a few days, every year, you are given a first-hand look at the future of the world. We see local, state, national and world leaders in the making, growing, learning, and thinking. Those who attend conferences often represent the best of what the future holds, and it fosters a sense of overwhelming hope within me and my counterparts. I return year after year, because I am in fact, addicted to hope.
On behalf of the entire staff and Board of Directors, we are eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to once again provide Delegates and Faculty Advisors with an exceptional SRMUN Virtual experience. If you have any questions in the conference preparation process, please do not hesitate to reach out.
All the best,
Rachael Feibelman
Secretary-General
